Responsibilities
· Manage a team of laborers, operators and subs contractors
· Do daily paperwork
· Laying storm sewer, sanitary sewer, force main and water main.
· Setting and maintaining line and grade.
· Assemble fittings with joints including mechanical, solvent weld, push-on, flanged, gasketed, fusion, etc.
· Assemble appurtenances for water, sewer and storm systems.
· Set, finish and adjust storm, water and sewer structures, vaults, castings, utility boxes.
· Measure, cut, assemble new pipe for underground and precast applications
· Install new or replace existing valves, cleanouts and vacuum release appurtenances
· Tap or tie into existing pressure piping using sleeves, saddles and hot taps
· Use of hand tools
· Rigging of pipe and pipe assemblies for installation in trenches, vaults, manholes and lift stations
· Disassemble and remove damaged or worn pipe
· Weld HDPE & steel casing
· Train less-experienced pipe layers in essentials of the trade
· Operate heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, skid steers, dozers, etc.
· Ability to read blueprints
Requirements
· High school diploma or GED equivalent
· Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record
· Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
· Capable of lifting 50 to 75 pounds and bending, stooping or kneeling for long periods
· Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of wet utility systems
· Must have 3 years minimum Foreman experience
· Experience installing storm, sanitary sewer and water utility
· Experience with storm drainage, sewer structures, and required connections
· Experience setting up and using pipe lasers, transits and rotating lasers
· Understand plans, survey stakes, line and grade.
· Experience testing water and sewer systems with air and hydrostatic chlorination tests.
· Experience with shoring safety including trench shields, sheet piling and other mechanical shoring systems.
